I'm guessing the camcorder driver is compatible with Gateway T-16 Chicony Webcam camcorder only when hooked up via USB for webcam or grabbing still pictures from video footage. I've been using Ubuntu on and off for a couple of years, but I'm feeling out of my depth here. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Sorry Kathryn, I can't really help youu with this.

I had to use Virtualbox's log to figure this out. Then download the 2 files here- http: Now u need to make a Gateway T-16 Chicony Webcam file with these 2 lines of commands in it: Make the file executable.

I had the most success ONLY useing gspcav Did you ever get anywhere with Skype? I have the same issue with a Cisco Webcam. Camorama does NOT work.
I searched on the forum and tried many solutions but none worked for me. Unstable installs of of specific driver, games, etc.
Basic movies, mp3's work. Tried multiple reinstalls, ways, setups, etc. I just see some noise in the signal gkanilkumar March 9th, It is not ditecting in ubuntu 9.
When I do lsusb, the device shows up as Jeilin Technology Corp. Right-click the device, and in the popup menu select Update Driver Software. Then follow the instructions on screen, but make sure you allow Windows to search the web for updated drivers.
How To Fix Webcam Problems
